Category: Let's talk
Hi everyone. I wrote a trial post in keyword and am now looking for an easy to navigate place for my blog. I can't use blogspot or yahoo 360 obviously so, where should I go? I tried homeschool and homestead blogger. No joy. Thanks guys. Tiffany
I thought Blogspot had the audio code thing so visually impaired people could sign up? At least, it did last I used it, which admittedly was a while ago. For some reason, most blind people seem to be fond of LiveJournal. It has the audio code and all, but I'm not a fan. I use Xanga, but you have to have a sighted person help with the security code. I'm sure there are others which I just can't think of at the moment. Best of luck finding something that works for you.
I use blogspot and didn't have to go through a security code thing.
about two seconds after I posted this question my mind hit upon wordpress. It was the most painless signup process I've experienced online. ablindgibsongirl.wordpress.com. Okay, two more questions, how do you save links from an email to the favorites folder and, how do you paste links in to the address bar such as an activation link? I wrote a whole post and I really don't want to retype it on my blog. I'm beginning to hate my braillenote. Tiffany
OK, this is after the fact, since you already set up a blog, but lots of blind folks seem to like Livejournal. I suppose if Wordpress gives you trouble, you can always go there.
Okay, to save a link from an email to your favorites folder:
Open the email, select (highlight) the link in question and press control c to copy it to your clipboard. Then open your web browser and press control+o to bring up the open dialog. Then where it says "file to open" or something like that, press control+v to paste the link from your email to the browser and press enter. The webpage will come up, and if you are using internet explorer you can press alt+a to get to your favorites and arrow down one time to "add to favorites" and press enter.
To put a link in your journal, if it's like live journal, just copy the url into the journal's page, the editor is smart enough to recognize this as a URL and post the appropriate code.
Hope this helps.

Hi Bob, will a similar thing work on the braillenote? Where's woof when you need him? I discovered the admin page is quite confusing for now. I still have some poking around to do. Persistence will pay off in the end.
I'm pretty sure the same procedure will work on the braillenote. Let me know if it doesn't, and what the problem seems to be, and we'll see if we can find a work around.
Luck.
Bob
I'm bringing this back because my English professor is having us use blogger but I can't find the edit box where you type the entry. The only ones I can find so far are title and tags. I find a bunch of stuff like font, bold, and a bunch of other graphics.
In the basic settings for your Blogger blog, set "compose mode" to no and you'll have a real edit box into which you type your article text.
Go to Livejournal.com
Awesome! Now i can't find where to sign in. I use firefox and I can find it but Internet explorer is not showing me everything on the page.
